LIFESTYLE AND PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHER.
I create imagery that has a nostalgic and familiar aesthetic, my work is authentic and reflective of my life and childhood in Guernsey, the island with the light that once inspired Renoir.
“The light here is like nowhere else, bathing everything in a tender glow that invites the eye to linger.” Pierre-Auguste Renoir.
I grew up on the west coast with never-ending summers and golden light which is imprinted in my mind’s eye, I’m always chasing that feeling of freedom in my work.
My father and grandfather are both joiners which is where I get the love for things that are well made and why I seek that level of perfection in the photographs I take. I have a special interest in anything artisanal, traditional or cultural and love working with heritage brands.
I studied art an design for two years at Grange House which is where I truly discovered photography as a medium. Grange House was a incubator of creative thinking and has produced much talent, it was somewhere like no other where you were free to explore and grow.
Some photographers like to start with a blank page, for me photographing in my style is like painting on someone else’s half finished canvas, assessing what you have to work with and beautifying it.
Working here has made me adaptable, the seasons and the weather are changeable, you have to be able to interpret light and negotiate with it, no one day looks the same. I often find myself sitting on a self built moral fence between documentary and creativity, I hope you can find the reality in all of my work.
I enjoy collaborating with clients big and small from startups to global brands that have their own unique story to share.
At home in Guernsey, available for adventures worldwide.
